Chords, Guitar Tablature & Lyrics
____________________________________________________________________________________
I think that there are two acoustic rhythm guitars playing is this incredible song - one is playing on lower frets and the other is playing on upper frets. I'm going to show you the chords for both parts - then you can pick which way to pick! Be sure to visit my tab page in order to understand how I write tablature on the web.

(P. S. - Be forewarned! I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy of the chords in this particular song - especially the beginning)

CHORDS
Please note that while Guitar 1 plays these chords:
Gmaj7 Dmaj7/F# A/E E A/E
(these are the exact chords that are listed above for Guitar 1),
Guitar 2 plays these chords with a different fingering:
Gmaj7 Dmaj7 A E A
the Gmaj7 and Dmaj7 chords are the same that are listed above for Guitar 2,
but the A and E chords are actually played this way by Guitar 2 during the intro only:
A
1 -|| -------------1-----------------5
2 -|| -------------1-----------------5
3 -|| -------------------2-----------6
4 -|| ------------------------3------7
5 -|| -------------------------------X
6 -|| -------------------------------X
E

2 -|| ------------------------3-------9
3 -|| ------------------------3-------9
4 -|| ------------------------3-------9
5 -|| --------------------------------X
6 -|| --------------------------------X
TIP: I purposely made the tab a little generic so that I wouldn't have to write two guitar parts. So please don't be confused over things like this: The 'Chords' with the lyrics say to play D, but the 'Tab' shows Guitar 1 plays D/F# while guitar 2 plays D/A. The D actually represents each of these two chords, which sound great when played together.
The key to playing this song is playing the chords on the 'up' beat while using full 6 string chords (both the high and low parts). Learn both parts (just in case the second guitarist doesn't know both parts!).
I hope you enjoyed playing this piece.
Remember, that by learning this song, you are helping to preserve the music of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils!
